Heating of the pump is achieved by jackets on the casing and bearing lantern. The two areas can be heated separately or together as a combined heating system. The jackets can be fed with steam, heat transfer oil or any other readily available heat transfer medium. Conversely, the heating system can also be used as a cooling system if necessary.
